Gimba Kakanda Gimba Kakanda   is a poet, writer and public affairs analyst. The Abuja-based writer and social entrepreneur has contributed to a vast array of local and international media in various genres, and currently writes on politics and life for Daily Trust and analyses foreign policy from the African perspective for Aljazeera. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE),  and is an alumnus of the University of Iowa’s prestigious International Writing Program. Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa   (born 1 January 1969) also known with his honorific as Sheikh Daurawa, is a Nigerian Islamic Scholar from  Kano state . [ 1 ]  His father is a famous Researcher called Sheikh Ibrahim Muhammad Mai Tafsiri, Sheikh Daurawa appointed by Kano State governor  Abba Kabir Yusuf  in 2023 as commander of  Hisbah Kano . Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu , Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu , Talban Minna, the former Governor of Niger State is responsible for the great boom in creative writing in Niger State between 2010-2015. This was a golden age for writers in Niger State when he created the Niger State Book Development Agency for writers in 2012. Between 2011 and 2015, Nigerian writers paid annual pilgrimage to Minna for the MBA Annual International Literary Colloquium. Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu donated a piece of land to writers in Niger State to build a writers village in Minna. He single-handedly published 10 writers that formed the first set of the Nigeria Writers Series. Dr. Mu’azu Babangida’s  contributions are more than what has been mentioned here. Aliyu Trust Foundation Aliyu Trust Foundation  is the latest corporate participant in Minna, Niger State, art patronage. It is an NGO traditionally established for humanitarian purposes, like providing care and support for the less privileged. However, in the last three years, it has involved sponsoring HIASFEST to an annual tune of N10 million. Their contribution finances all the significant cash prizes and publications of the winning entries in poetry and prose of the Nigeria Prize for Teen Authors. HIASFEST is the biggest and the most comprehensive teen arts festival in Africa.
